Uzbekistan – Crossroads of Great Roads and Civilizations

From August 22-26, 2019 our publishing house Müller & Schindler had the honour to form part of the forum “Uzbekistan – Crossroads of Great Roads and Civilizations: empires, religions, cultures” where different conferences were held in four cities of Uzbekistan – Tashkent, Termez, Samarkand and Bukhara. This event was held on the initiative of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and took place within the framework of the Cultural Heritage Week.

The UNESCO Director General Audrey Azouley as well as national and international scientists, researchers and experts from the field attended the event and took part in the conference dedicated to the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage, current challenges and future opportunities. The exchange of experiences and ideas during these days is of great importance not only for Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region, but also for the entire Asia-Pacific area, as well as for other countries of the world.

Due to our profound knowledge when it comes to illuminated manuscripts and its preservation under special conditions and our extensive experience in the reproduction process of fine art replicas we had the chance to share our knowhow with an international audience during our presentation “Reproduction and preservation of manuscripts for protecting cultural heritage”.

Thanks to this conference and the highly elaborated and unique supporting programme the time flashed past. We are returning loaded with many exceptional impressions and more than ever we are aware of the rich cultural heritage of this fascinating country. We want to thank the organizers for the invitation and the opportunity to experience the Uzbek culture in such closeness. Thank you very much for your trust in us.
