Faksimile Verlag: well-established Fine Art Facsimile Publisher resumes its work under new ownership

Charlotte Kramer, owner of Mueller & Schindler Publishers, takes over former Faksimile Verlag

Since September 1, 2017 the new company Faksimile Verlag GmbH (Ltd), situated in Simbach (Southern Germany) continues the long tradition of Faksimile Verlag, originally founded in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1974. As during its eventful history since then, Faksimile Verlag will furthermore publish faithful Fine Art Facsimile Editions of unique masterpieces of the Middle Ages. Even some of the editions already published are still on stock and will be offered to the market.

Charlotte Kramer is one of the leading persons in the Fine Art Facsimile Business. With her long experience (she owns the renowned facsimile publisher Mueller & Schindler) she will continue her father´s work – Dr. Manfred Kramer was for a long time Director of Faksimile Verlag, before the company was sold to the Bertelsmann affiliate inmediaONE] in 2006.

Founded 43 years ago Faksimile Verlag Luzern worked for more than 30 years on the perfect and faithful reproduction of middle-age manuscripts down to the smallest details, giving access to some of the most important European manuscripts created in a period of more than 1000 years – among them such famous codices as the Lorsch Gospels from Charlemagne, the Très Riches Heures of the Duke of Berry, the singular Book of Kells or lately the Coronation Gospels of the Holy Roman Empire.
